Later generations (HE / MP)
Lincoln’s later SAE-300 HE and SAE-300 MP versions moved to a 3-cylinder, 24.7 hp diesel — either a Kubota D1503 or Perkins 403F-15T turbo — at 1,800 rpm, raised the output range to 50–390 A with a 390 A maximum, and increased weight slightly to roughly 1,419–1,432 lb depending on engine.
Rated output on these later units stayed at 300 A/32 V/60% and 250 A/30 V/100%, with gouging capacity increasing to 1/4-inch (6.3 mm) carbons.

MIG and flux-cored (with Wire Feed Module)
CV wire welding is rated at 300 A, 35 V at 60 percent duty cycle, and 325 A, 34 V at 35 percent duty cycle. Lincoln recommends the LN-25 Pipe feeder, with the LN-25 PRO, LN-15, LN-7 GMA and LN-8 as other compatible across-the-arc feeders.
Gouging
The classic SAE-300 handles carbon arc gouging; later HE/MP generations extended gouging capacity to 1/4-inch (6.3 mm) carbons.
